Zenkaikon was, in short, boring. That is to say the convention itself was boring, but the time I spent there with truly amazing people made it one of the best conventions I have ever been to. I spent 90% of my time spread out between hanging out and wandering the excessively large space with no real goal in mind other than to spend more time with my current company. I am relieved to say, that though this temporary location for the convention was mostly abysmal, that next year they will be moving to the Lancaster Convention Center and I still hold hope that my favorite con will be all it was in years prior.
I did debut my Medic's Wife outfit, which I believe was wholly successful in no small part thanks to
The other 80% of my time, as usual, was spent in Madam Red. Friday I rehashed her ballgown look into something partly new, and had her in her own rave gear that night. (Which unfortunately went to waste because the room was so loud it was physically painful to be inside.) The first half of Saturday I spent in the standard tuxedo suit, before switching out to Medics Wife and haunting the dealers room with my dashing husband. Friday I also met up with the Count of Monte Cristo whom I met last year and shenanigans were had at the expense of the unsuspecting public. During which time I met the most wonderful Captain Hook
Photos of the weekend are tagged on my Tumblr and FB so please go there to find them...because once again, though I brought my camera, I had no time to actually use it myself. I will be uploading a photoset taken by Hugh Casey as soon as he published them though, but Medics Wife will not be among those photos taken.
My next and probably last convention this year, will sadly be only Otakon, unless a home situation changes. If I met with you at Zenkaikon and I didn't give you my card or haven't found you, please contact me, I don't bite and I'd love to see some of the pictures people have taken and keep in touch. (Especially you Gankutsuou)
